Essentials of Human Resources Management
Intended for those new to the field of Human Resources or outside the field with acquired Human Resources responsibilities, this two-day intensive certificate introduces you to the six key areas of the industry. Sessions are held in Durham, NC.
NEW Event Development Certificate Program
This sequential eight-course program has been designed for both seasoned professionals in the event and meeting planning industry as well as for individuals with little or no event experience. The program provides an overview of the areas necessary to be a successful planner and covers each domain as outlined by the 2012 CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) International Standards. If you have ever pictured yourself behind the scenes ensuring the seamless flow of a meeting or event, this is the program for you.
Financial Planning
This accelerated nine-month weekend program, designed for professionals in the financial services industry, focuses on the technical aspects, practical application, ethics and professionalism of financial planning. Graduates fulfill the educational requirement to qualify for application to the CFP® certification exam.

Our noteworthy HR Management program is now also being offered in a NEW intensive version for those who cannot commit to regular weeknight classes. The intensive version will be offered during 4 consecutive days and will cover the same material as the original program. Legal Nurse Consultant - Classroom
This multi-week program will train active licensed RN's to consult as medical-legal professionals. The LNC Program awards CNE contact hours. The program is divided into six modules, which are designed to be taken sequentially. All of the instructors are licensed RN’s and have worked as LNC's.
Legal Nurse Consultant - Online
This online program has ongoing, open registration except the last three weeks of June. Learn to consult as a medical-legal professional at your own pace from your own home. Students have six months to complete six modules.
Management Accounting
This program prepares finance and accounting professionals to meet the challenges of the new corporate accounting environment. Using the CMA Learning System, graduates may be qualified to sit for the CMA exam.
Nonprofit Management
Learn to face the unique challenges of the nonprofit world – from working with volunteers, to fund-raising, to legal qualifications and expectations for board members. Day-long courses are offered statewide and taught by local nonprofit leaders.
Paralegal Classroom Certificate Program
Using a skills-based curriculum, this evening program provides students with practical training in preparation for the workplace. Our classroom-based program is offered during the spring and fall of each year in Durham, NC and Charlotte, NC. There is also a summer "intensive" day format offered in Durham. The classroom program has been designated as “qualified” by the NC State Bar. Therefore, as a qualified program, our graduates can apply for the paralegal certification exam offered by the NC State Bar twice a year.
Paralegal Online Global Certificate Program
Applications to the online version of the paralegal classroom program are accepted throughout the year except the last three weeks in June. Although instructors (attorneys) are assigned to each student, the online program is completely student-driven. Applicants accepted to the program are given 12 months to complete their studies. All coursework is completed online.
Paralegal Specialist Certificates
Paralegal Specialist Online Certificates are offered in over 25 specialty areas of law. Each certificate consists of four courses: three required and one elective. Students complete all four courses online and at their own pace, using textbooks, plus a multitude of comprehensive online resources.
Technical Communication
Learn the core skills necessary to produce clear, effective, technical writing. This eight-month program covers project management, editing, information architecture, essential tools, and electronic communications.
