Requirements
Certificate students are strongly encouraged to attend an Information Session & Equipment Orientation prior to applying to the program. You may register for these on the Information Sessions page.
Criteria for Completing a Certificate in Documentary Studies
Introductory Seminar in Documentary Studies — covers the methods and issues of doing documentary work.
Four Courses (totaling at least 64 hours) of additional course work.
Final Seminar — the final project, to be presented to an audience.
NOTE: All coursework must be completed prior to taking this course and registration for Final Seminar is by approval only. To be considered for a term’s section of Final Seminar you must submit a written request to April Walton, Learning Outreach Director at the Center for Documentary Studies. Applicants will be contacted by April to discuss their project ideas before being approved for registration.
Your request for admittance into the Final Seminar must be received two weeks (14 days) prior to the start date of the course. The deadline for the Spring 2008 section is March 17.
