Students who complete the program and score 70 percent or better on the final will receive a Certificate in Global Human Resources from Duke University Continuing Studies. Students who are pursuing their GPHR certification will also have to apply separately for the national exam.
HRCI National Certification Exam
The Duke certificate program is a preparation program for the Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) national certification exam administered by the Human Resources Certification Institute. (HRCI). This national certification exam is administered twice yearly – once in the Spring (May through June) and once in the Winter (December through January).
Registration for the GPHR exam is administered only through HRCI – not Duke University. You may register online by visiting the SHRM/HRCI site at www.shrm.org/hrci. Please note, in order to sit for the exam you must have at least two (2) years of exempt-level human resource work experience with responsibilities preferably including:
- Development and implementing global HR strategies
- Managing HR operations overseas
- International assignment management
