Coaching Services
Overview
Duke Leadership’s coaching service has three elements that we regard as fundamental.
- First, we learn what the individual's immediate needs are;
- Second, we study and work within the context of the organization in which the client is operating;
- Third, our coaching incorporates the relationship between the client and the organization to assure mutual benefit.
Our coaches -- who have over 20 years of hands-on experience each -- believe that the return on investment of coaching is only possible when we can help the client work within the present culture of the organization. Coaching is not a stand-alone process.
Promoted to a new position, a manager found herself working in an environment of distrust. A Duke Leadership coach helped her establish a strong relationship with her boss; overcome inherited personnel obstacles; set the tone for professional relationships within the office; and maintain personal resiliency.
The members of our coaching team work with managers and executives in hospitals, corporations, universities, high-growth businesses, government and public sector agencies on a variety of issues.
A talented but brusque corporate officer was challenged by his board to improve working relationships or leave the company. After interviewing his peers and superiors, a Duke Leadership coach gave him thoughtful feedback and assisted him in identifying and then changing his behavior to ensure success within the company's culture.
