To submit a cancellation request:
Email: learnmore@duke.edu
Fax: 919-681-8235
Mail: Registration - Duke Continuing Studies
Box 90700
Durham, NC 27708-0700
Include your name, address, phone number, and course title to be dropped. Refunds will be made in the manner you paid us.
Special Circumstances
Course is Filled / Waiting List
If you pay for a course that is already filled, we will put your name on the waiting list, notify you, and automatically issue you a refund or send back your check. Save the check in case a space opens up. If a space becomes available, we will call you. Acceptance of a space from the waiting list creates the obligation of payment regardless of attendance, unless registration is cancelled according to the cancellation policy above.
If We Cancel a Course
Sometimes we have to cancel a course that does not meet minimum enrollment, or due to unforeseen events. If that happens, you will receive a full refund, unless you prefer to select a different course from the same catalog. Duke Continuing Studies reserves the right to substitute instructors or change the day a course meets.
Bad Checks
If a check is returned for insufficient funds, we will charge a returned check fee of $30. Checks will not be resubmitted. The replacement payment must include the additional $30 and be in the form of cash, money order, or MC/Visa.
Tax Deductions
Course fees and expenses are sometimes tax deductible. Please consult an accountant concerning this matter.
