Curriculum

Course History

Since OLLI at Duke opened as the Duke Institute for Learning in Retirement in 1977, curriculum has always been our major strength as a program.  We have grown from having nine courses during our first semester to almost 100 offerings in our fall 2008 term. Since the very first semester, the program has offered a balanced variety of courses that allows members to explore new interests or learn more about long-term passions, to exercise mind and body, and to bond with other lifelong learners.

This course history (including course descriptions) runs from Fall 2003 through Spring 2008.  In the near future we will update the list to include the most recently completed semesters and hope eventually to have a complete history going back to 1977.  This history reminds members to celebrate our past achievements and helps them to gain inspiration for our future.
