Membership Fees and Course Fees
To attend OLLI at Duke classes and events, you must first remit $35 in annual membership dues (payable when you first sign up for courses during the school year). If you purchased a membership any time between Spring 2013 registration to today, your dues are good until July 1, 2014.
Registration opens at 9:00 am on Tuesday, April 1.
There are many ways to register.
1. Online Registration. Beginning at 9:00 am on Tuesday, April 1, you can enroll in classes online from the comfort of your own home and receive immediate confirmation of your classes. Registering online is the best way to maximize your chances of getting into a popular class.
To register, click on Student Login, and then click on Course Search (at the top). You can find the course you want by typing in the four number Course ID listed in the catalog and click “Search now.” When the desired course appears on your screen, click on it. You will then be able to add it to your cart (i.e., enroll in the course), and then either checkout or search for another class. (If your course has more than one section available, you will be able to choose which section you prefer to enroll in.) If you do not have a current membership, you will be prompted to purchase one.
2. Registration Event. If you would like help registering online, we will be having a registration event at JRC on Tuesday, April 1 at 9:00 am. We will have trained OLLI mentors with computers to assist you. You must have your registration user name and password to register. If you have forgotten these, you must be able to access your home email from the computers we will have on site.
3. Phone Registrations. If you would like to register by phone, you may call the registration office (919-684-6259) anytime after 9:00 am on Tuesday, April 1. Please do not ask to register for classes prior to this date. Members will be registered in the order calls are received. If your call goes to voice mail due to heavy call volume, a registration member will contact you as soon as possible in the order calls are received. Registering online is the best way to maximize your chances of getting into a popular class.
4. Paper Registrations. You still have the option of registering using the form in the catalog. Please deliver or send your form and personal check to the Bishop’s House no sooner than one business day (March 31) prior to the opening of registration on April 1, and they will be processed in the order received at that time. Please note: because of security precautions, persons using the paper form must pay by check. If you prefer to use a credit card, you will need to register online or by phone. Registering online is the best way to maximize your chances of getting into a popular class.
Requests for refunds for dropped courses must be received by the end of the first week of class (April 4, 2014). After that time, no refunds will be issued. There will be a $20 service charge per course dropped. If a course is cancelled by OLLI at Duke, no charge will be incurred by members. Please note: membership dues are non-refundable.
