GRE
GRE Preparation Class
Invest in your success with this convenient, cost effective class. Learn and practice test-taking strategies for the questions on the GRE General Test. Review segments will include:
Reading Comprehension
The GRE requires that you read passages quickly and critically. You will learn to actively evaluate the structure and details of text to help you select the correct answers for the types of questions most frequently asked. Review antonyms, analogies, and sentence completion. Test the range of your vocabulary and your ability to understand word relationships.
Essay Writing
Two essay questions — one issue-related and one critical-thinking oriented — are now part of the GRE. Given that each essay topic is designed to allow for demonstration of communication skills, review for this part of the test will stress organization and clarity as well as grammatically correct writing.
Mathematical Skills
The GRE Quantitative sections are designed to measure basic math skills, understanding of math concepts, and ability to reason and solve problems in a quantitative setting. Includes practice on questions that draw from basic arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.
Analytical and Logical Reasoning
The GRE tests your ability to understand, analyze, and evaluate arguments and to deduce new information from arbitrary relationships. You will gain clarity about the problems in this section once you have learned to use diagrams to solve them. You will be shown how to select the appropriate method for each kind of problem and how to avoid common errors.
Texts are handed out at the first session of each course. All materials are included in course fees.
