Living Options
RESIDENTIAL CAMPERS
Residential students live and dine on the Duke University East campus. They are expected to have the independence and maturity to make responsible decisions for themselves about their health and safety, to interact cooperatively with other members of the program community, and to manage their time wisely with regard to assignments, both in and out of class.
DAY CAMPERS
All day campers must check in on Monday morning at the White Lecture Hall Duke's East Campus (see map) between 9:15 - 9:45 am. You may park in the lots indicated on the map. At check-in, campers will pick up class assignments, camp T-shirt, writing supplies, and other important camp information.

Day campers and their families must arrange transportation to and from campus everyday. Please note that classes begin promptly at 10:00 am and end at 4:30 pm Monday through Friday the first week and Monday through Thursday the second week. Staff members are not available to supervise day campers after the indicated pick up times.
Lunch - Lunch is included in the camp tuition. All participants eat lunch in the East Campus Marketplace. The dining hall offers a wide variety of lunch entrees, salads, desserts and drinks. Vegetarian options are available. Campers may not leave the Duke campus for lunch.
Carpool - Each session, campers usually commute from all over the Triangle area. If you are interested in adding your name to the carpool list, you may indicate so on the appropriate form. We will send out a carpool list at least 1 week before the session begins, so that you may arrange ride sharing with other parents/guardians.
If the camper will not be attending class for any reason on a particular day, please call the administrative office at (919) 684-2827 to leave a message with the Duke Youth Programs staff.
EXTENDED DAY CAMPERS
All extended day campers must check in on Monday morning at White Lecture Hall on Duke's East Campus (see map) between 9:15 - 9:45 am. You may park in the lots indicated on the map. Please note that classes begin promptly at 10:00 am and end at 4:30 pm Monday through Friday the first week and Monday through Thursday the second week. Campers participating in the extended-day option will return to the residence hall with the residential students. A counselor will be assigned to supervise this group of campers.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Talent Show - The talents show usually takes place in the evening on the second Wednesday of camp. Day campers are welcome to attend and participate but will need to make the appropriate arrangements with residential staff.
Durham Bulls Game - If the home game dates are compatible with the camp schedule, residential and extended day campers generally attend a Durham Bulls baseball game each session. This is not included in Day camper tuition. However, parents of day campers are welcome to bring their child and join us there.
CAMP CELEBRATION
Family and friends are invited to join the campers and staff at our closing celebration on the last evening of camp. The program will include student readings and a slide show chronicling campers' experiences. Light refreshments of drinks and cookies will be served after the event.
